In a calm July setting in South Dakota, Derek and Myra celebrated their wedding day surrounded by family and friends. From the start of the day, the sky threatened to break open and rain but we all hoped for the best. Myra got ready with her bridesmaids at her parents’ home. She shared a sweet first look with her bridesmaids and then her dad. We drove to a field for her first look with Derek. Derek was surprised to turn around and see one of his friends in a white dress instead of Myra! After a good laugh, we got Derek back into position and Myra met him in the field just before it began to rain. They shared a sweet first look and then we headed off to the church.
The light drizzle of rain wasn’t going anywhere so we did our best with getting all of the photos done as quickly as possible. And then, just before the ceremony, the sky broke open. It was blue skies and sunshine ahead. The summer landscape provided a stunning backdrop, with lush greenery and clear skies enhancing the ceremony’s natural beauty. Derek and Myra exchanged vows under a rustic arch.
The reception was filled with genuine moments of laughter and featured a coffee bar and ice cream bar! This South Dakota wedding was a beautiful blend of love, family, and friendship.
