Adam and Emma’s South Dakota September wedding began with a threat of rain. Emma got ready with her bridesmaids at a friend’s house. Her mom helped her into her dress and then she had a first look with her bridesmaids. As we were leaving the house to go to the field where the wedding and reception would be, it began to sprinkle. The rain would continue to be off and on most of the afternoon.
Emma had a first look with her dad and gifted him a personalized tie with a picture of him and Emma on it. It was so sweet and brought them both to tears.
Adam arrived and was nervously waiting to see his bride. They had a private first look among the few evergreens in the field. Emma pinned on Adam’s boutonniere and admired her bouquet – she did all of the flowers herself!
Just before the ceremony, there was a tornado warning in a town near by. But as the guests began to arrive, the sun broke through above us and the storm clouds could still be seen around us. The wedding ceremony was beautiful as Adam and Emma promised to be there for each other through all of life.
The reception took place in a white tent and was filled with family and friends. They cut the cake, tossed the bouquet, ran around in the field at sunset, and both were tossed into the air before leaving for their honeymoon.
All in all, it was beautiful September wedding in South Dakota.
